Too Much of a Good Thing? The Psychic & Spiritual Expo Boom

It seems that no matter where you are, there’s a psychic or spiritual expo happening nearby—sometimes two or three on the same weekend. Once upon a time, these events were rare and special. They were gatherings of like-minded souls, a place to connect with genuine healers, mediums, and spiritual seekers. But lately, it feels like the market has become flooded.
The question is… when does something sacred turn into something saturated?
Don’t get me wrong—expos have their place. They can be incredible opportunities to meet beautiful people, discover new modalities, and experience healing energy firsthand. But when there’s an event almost every weekend within an hour’s drive, the magic starts to fade. The energy shifts from meaningful to mechanical. What was once an experience becomes an expectation.
Many of us in the spiritual field are starting to feel this shift. Instead of excitement, there’s fatigue. Instead of connection, there’s competition. And for the clients, it can become overwhelming—too many choices, too many voices, too many promises.
So, is the expo boom a good thing or not? That’s the tricky part. On one hand, it shows how open and curious people have become about spirituality. On the other, it can dilute the depth and integrity that true spiritual work deserves.
For me, I’ve had to step back and re-evaluate where I want my energy to go. I’ve realized that it’s not about doing more—it’s about doing what feels aligned. Just because everyone else is doing it doesn’t mean it’s right for me, or for you.
The truth is, the most powerful spiritual experiences don’t always happen in crowded halls. They happen in quiet moments, one-on-one conversations, and authentic connections.
Maybe it’s time to bring the sacred back to center.
